Frequently asked questions

No. You can book directly. A GP plan is only needed to claim a Medicare rebate.

If you have a chronic condition, your GP may prepare a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan, which allows up to five Medicare-rebated allied health visits each calendar year. The five visits are shared across all allied health providers, and most practices still charge a gap.

Search their name on the Ahpra Register of practitioners at ahpra.gov.au. It shows whether they are registered to practise and any conditions on their registration.
